This site last updated on ** 06/24/10 ** (MM/DD/YY) My fascination with the work of Joss Whedon started, of course, with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Yet, while I was a fan of Buffy *before* Spike came along, it was Spike that became my number one reason for watching. I drifted from the series during the third season (mostly because of my work schedule and lack of a TV or VCR of my own), but when Spike came back in the fourth season, so did I. And while I loved all the other characters, it was Spike and his relationship with Buffy that drew me into the world of Buffy-related fanfic (and art), and it was a wish to meet Marsters that saw me start attending conventions and even visit California (to see him in concert). These expreiences in turn led to me writing an ongoing column with Sequential Tart on Buffy (and Angel), which eventually led to my writing on other topics for other publications, as me working my way up to Assistant Editor status at Tart. So I have a lot to be thankful to Joss Whedon (and James Marsters, and really the entire cast and crew of both Buffy and Angel) for. Besides becoming fascinated with Spike and "Spuffy", I also became a very big fan of Wesley Wyndam-Price and "Fresley" (Wes paired with Winifred Burkle) and Wes/Illyria (the goddess who replaced Fred) on Angel. Even so, I loved all the characters on Angel, even if Wes was my clear fave. Oddly, though, I only got to writing one fic that included "Fresley", and I never got around to finishing it maybe now that I have this site up .... Anyway, of course I was thrilled when Spike came over to Angel after Buffy was cancelled. I loved the comic sequel to Buffy, the future-set Fray, for the most part, but I was disappointed in the end. Still, I have to appreciate the twist, even if I didn't really like said twist. I have to admit that I didn't get into the run of X-Men comics that Whedon penned, despite being an X-fan I didn't care for the roster he had and as a Scott/Jean and Banshee/Emma Frost shipper, Scott/Emma was doubly unpalatable for me. And even if I had the money and a comic shop I could actually get to, I'm not sure I would read the post-series Buffy or Angell comics, as I've read summaries and glanced at graphic novels in the store and didn't care for the direction the books went in. (But that's just me I know people who have greatly enjoyed them!) It was a given that I would watch Firefly (and be crushed when it was cancelled), not just because it was from Joss and Tim Minear, but because I was already a fan of Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk. Of course I became a Mal/Inara shipper. I loved the movie Serenity even though Joss ripped my own heart out with it and served it to me on a platter. Dr. Horrible is, as far as I'm concerned, a work of musical genius, surpassing even the muscial ep of Buffy, "Once More With Feeling" (which is genius in its own right). Billy may be the bad guy, but it's hard not to love him, especially with the charming Neil Patrick Harris playing him! I am not typically a fan of tragedy (really, to me, it's the new cliché), but sometimes Whedon and his crew can actually get me to enjoy it or at least appreciate it. It took me several episodes to warm up to Dollhouse, but I was hooked by mid first-season, and I think there's been some stunningly inventive and twisted (in a good way) storytelling since. The very humourous and deliciously angsty Topher Brink is my current Whedonverse captivation again, while I really love all the characters on the show, he's my biggest "reason to watch". As a shipper, I also enjoyed the all-to-brief Ballard/Mellie and am currently enjoying Sierra/Victor. And Tudyk has been simply amazing. I haven't written or drawn any fanworks in the Whedonverse in a very, very long while, but if you've never been here, there's plenty to see, and plenty of links to go check out. Like I said, one of these days I'll hopefully finish my Buffy/Angel/Extreme Ghostbusters fic, "Haunted Hearts", and I have plans for a couple of Dollhouse-related works. I also have lots of other sites too, ones that are updated more regularly .... ~Wolfen Moondaughter (aka WolfenM)

I had a Buffy-themed site on Tripod, back around 2001, called "Tales from Spike's Crypt" I changed the name to "My Undead Heart and Soul" when I changed servers. That site mostly fell by the wayside after Buffy's cancellation; when I went looking for something recently, I found a boatload of broken images and links, an dthe frames I had set up were bugging me now. I decided to fix it up and, in the process, broaden the focus a bit from Spike on Buffy to Whedon's work in general. This is a work in progess, of course, but I feel it's been fixed up enough now to at least open the door! Please forgive the mess as I keep working on it ....
